Oyoung is happy to see Mister Negative return

Taking to Twitter, Stephen Oyoung — who voiced and played Mister Negative in the original game — celebrated the news, sharing the moment his character appears in the trailer with a celebratory “he’s back!” message.

The new trailer, which arrived yesterday from San Diego Comic-Con 2023, had a brief moment where Miles Morales runs into Mister Negative (aka Martin Li), wearing what looks to be a prison jumpsuit and sporting longer hair. In the trailer, Miles is clearly angry with him, yelling that Li doesn’t know what he’s taken from Morales.

In the original game, Li is one of the early antagonists that Peter Parker faces off against, and plays a pivotal part in the story. Li is the employer of May Parker and helps run F.E.A.S.T., but secretly runs a criminal organization known as the Inner Demons. After defeating Li in the game, he disappears, but his arrest is confirmed later in the game.

What do we know about the Shangri-La Frontier video game?

The news came in a brief announcement trailer for the game, which showed off main character Hizutome Rakuro (played by Yuma Uchida, who will portray the character in the upcoming anime) and his online persona Sunraku exiting out of a door alongside Emul (Rina Hidaka), a vorpal rabbit in the series. A brief interaction occurs that ends with Sunraku charging a man in a battle.

Currently, no other information about the game has been made available, so it’s unclear when the game will release or on what platforms the game will be available on. The description in the game’s trailer promises a “vast world” to experience, with “dynamic characters, flashy skill scenes,” and more.

Shangri-La Frontier began as a web novel series in 2017 before being adapted into a manga format in 2020. The series is written by Katarina and tells the story of Hizutome Rakuro, a fan of “trash games” that enters into a massively popular VR game called Shangri-La Frontier in order to master it.

Alongside a video game adaptation, Shangri-La Frontier is also receiving an anime adaption, which is set to premiere in October.

What else do we know about NBA 2K24?

Unfortunately, there will be no crossplay for fans who plan to play the game on older consoles. While NBA 2K24 will release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, it will do so with fewer features than the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Alongside the crossplay news, it was also revealed that there will once again be various editions of the game will include, as well as a celebration of Kobe Bryant — the cover athlete for two editions of the game — via “Mamba Moments.”

As is the case every year, NBA 2K24 will once again include a handful of different editions of the game, including the base game, a “Black Mamba Edition” that will cost $99.99, and a 25th Anniversary Edition of the game that will retail for $149.99 and include a variety of in-game content for the MyTeam and MyCareer modes as well as a free year subscription to NBA’s League Pass streaming service, which allows players to watch any game during the regular season.

A physical only WNBA edition of the game will also be made available at GameStop, with the New York Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu gracing the cover.

2K will also be celebrating the late Kobe Bryant beyond putting him on the cover. Similar to the Jordan moments that appeared in the game last year and in NBA 2K11, NBA 2K24 will include “Mamba Moments,” which will have players recreating some of Bryant’s most iconic moments. A statement on the game (via Polygon) also revealed that NBA 2K24 will include something called ProPlay, which “directly translates NBA footage into NBA 2K24 gameplay.” More information on that is set to come in the future, though.

The late NBA icon will appear on the game’s cover for the fourth time, and the second time posthumously. Previously, Bryant appeared on the cover of NBA 2K10, as well as the special edition covers of NBA 2K17 and NBA 2K21.

Bryant will appear on two covers of NBA 2K24

2K announced the move in a tweet, confirming that two editions of the game — the Kobe Bryant Edition and the Black Mamba Edition — would be available, as well as sharing a look at the covers.

The decision to include Bryant on the cover is likely due to Bryant wearing the number 24 for most of his career, which would match this year’s entry. Last year, Michael Jordan (who wore number 23 for most of his career) was also featured on a cover of NBA 2K23.

“As we celebrate 25 years of NBA 2K with Kobe Bryant, we commemorate his legacy and the generational impact he has had on the game of basketball,” Greg Thomas, president at Visual Concepts, the game’s developer, said in a statement. “While we mark the history of the franchise, NBA 2K24 also looks ahead to the future to bring an innovative leap in technology and the introduction of community-requested features like crossplay.”

Whether or not more covers of NBA 2K24 will be revealed is unknown as of now, since nothing else has been shown regarding NBA 2K24 yet. However, 2K has said that pre-orders for the game will begin tomorrow, so it’s likely more information is coming soon.

The remakes were originally set to release sometime this summer, but during a recent showcase from Granzella, it was confirmed that the game will be pushed back to 2024. While no new official release date has been set, Granzella says that it will be “not so late in the year” of 2024.

Currently, not a whole lot about R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos is known, other than the fact that the game will bundle together both remakes of the strategy RPGs R-Type Tactics and R-Type Tactics II: Operation Bitter Chocolate.

The original R-Type Tactics (known as R-Type Command in North America) was released in 2007 for the PlayStation Portable. Its sequel was released in 2009 for the PSP.

When does Disney Speedstorm release?

The Disney Speedstorm release date has been set for September 28, 2023, when the previously paid game will release in full on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC as a free-to-play title.

Currently, the only way to play the game is via a “Founder’s Pack” for $29.99. The Founder’s Pack for the game includes a handful of exclusive content for the game, including multiple limited-time racing suits and karts.

“Since the launch of Early Access, we’ve received invaluable feedback and support from players, which have been instrumental in shaping Disney Speedstorm into the incredible racing experience it is today,” said game manager Aska Suzuki in a press release. “Our incredible community’s enthusiasm, dedication, and love for the game have been our inspiration from day one, and we can’t wait to continue this journey together as we enter this exciting new phase.”

Disney Speedstorm was originally released as a pay-for-early access title earlier this year, and featured a roster comprised of characters from a variety of hit Disney properties, including Mickey and Friends, Pirates of the Caribbean, Monsters, Inc., Toy Story and Beauty and the Beast. Currently, the game features 24 different playable characters.

When does the Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising open beta start?

The Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising open beta test dates have been set, and will run from July 28-30 for PS4 and PS5. Arc System Works will also be selecting a random group of applicants to give early access to, with the early access dates for the beta happening on July 26 and July 27, 2023.

Even though the beta will be open for players, registration for ealry access will be available beginning on July 5 and running through July 16.

Alongside news of the open beta, Arc System Works also confirmed that Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will be holding an open beta tournament at the EVO 2023 fighting game tournament. EVO 2023 is set to take place from August 4-5, 2023, and will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is a sequel to Granblue Fantasy Versus, and will include a handful of new mechanics to the game, including Dash Attacks, Triple Attacks, and more when it releases later this year.

Both versions of the games are available

The classic arcade shoot ’em ups will come bundled together, and feature both the original versions of the game, as well as their HD remastered versions. RayStorm was originally released in 1996 for the PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and eventually the Xbox 360.

RayCrisis, which acted as a prequel to RayForce, released in 1998 and was originally a PlayStation home release before moving to PC and seeing a mobile port in 2017. Alongside the digital releases of the game, Inin is also partnering with Strictly Limited Games to release physical versions of the games in a variety of collections as well.

The game’s are up now on Strictly Limited’s site, and are limited to just over 1,000 copies, so fans will have to act quick if they want to grab one.

What does the new version of Mundaun include?

The current-gen port of Mundaun is available on both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. It runs at 4K at 60 frames per second and features new bug fixes, extra language support, and more. The PS5 port is $19.99 for those who don’t already own it and free for players with the PS4 version.

Originally released in 2021, Mundaun is a first-person horror game that features hand-drawn pencil art. The game centers around Curdin, a man returning to a secluded valley in The Alps for his grandfather’s funeral. After finding some mysterious happenings in the village, however, Curdin is then thrust into an adventure that features puzzles, exploration, and more as he tries to figure out what happened to his grandfather.

While Mundaun garnered an average score of 75 on OpenCritic, it’s grown to become a cult hit among horror fans because of its unique presentation and chilling scares.

PowerWash Simulator DLC includes six iconic SpongeBob locations

The new expansion to the fan-favorite power washing game includes six new maps, a redesigned player model for the power washer, and 10 new trophies for the game. These will be given out for completing various jobs in the new areas, as noted by its list on Exophase. Many of them even feature famous quotes or jokes from the series.

In the DLC, players will be equipped with a brand-new, custom-designed power washer. They are tasked with washing and exploring six new objects from SpongeBob SquarePants, including SpongeBob and Squidward’s home, the Krusty Krab, and more.
