The High on Life PS5 and PS4 ports are out right now

Buying one version entitles players to the other. These ports don’t seem to have any new features or content, though. Regardless, studio director Mike Fridley thanked PlayStation owners for their patience.

“The fans have spoken. And spoken. And spoken,” said Fridley. “We’ve been thrilled with High On Life’s reception since it launched in December. Our PlayStation fans have been slightly less thrilled, which is why we’re so excited to share that it’s coming their way very soon. Like now soon! Thank you for your patience!”

This port seemed inevitable, as it was found on a patch update database earlier in the week. Trophy lists for the game were also uploaded to sites like Exophase and PSNProfiles the following day.

Squanch also talked a little about High on Knife, the game’s first expansion, and said it will come to all systems at the same time, meaning PlayStation players won’t have to wait. IGN got an extended look at the DLC and even interviewed two members from Squanch who talked about the upgrades for Knifey, new abilities, and the gun voiced by Sarah Sherman from Saturday Night Live that will all be in DLC.

Squanch also released a trailer for the new port that doesn’t feature Justin Roiland’s name or voice in any way (and it even lists 26 other voice actors). This isn’t too unexpected since news broke that Roiland, who is most known for co-creating Rick and Morty and voicing the titular characters, was arrested and charged with felony domestic battery and false imprisonment. This spurred other reports to come out that alleged he preyed on some minors, harassed his female colleagues, and was generally not an attentive worker. The criminal charges were later dismissed, but this was well after Adult Swim and Squanch had severed ties with Roiland. Roiland wasn’t featured in the DLC’s trailer, either.

High on Life PS5 and PS4 trophy lists

The High on Life trophy lists for the PS5 and PS4 versions are identical. In fact, according to the lists that have appeared on Exophase, the only difference between the new trophy lists and the Xbox achievement lists is the addition of a Platinum trophy.

The vast majority of the trophy list are story-related trophies for obtaining weapons and defeating specific enemies. There are also collectibles to find and some missable side quests and optional tasks. The full list of 33 PS5 and PS4 trophies is below for those who don’t care about spoilers:

The appearance of the trophy lists confirms the rumor that started yesterday when a PS4 version of the game was discovered in a game update database. At the moment, High on Life is only available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. A horror-themed expansion for the game called High on Knife is also in the works.

Oyoung is happy to see Mister Negative return

Taking to Twitter, Stephen Oyoung — who voiced and played Mister Negative in the original game — celebrated the news, sharing the moment his character appears in the trailer with a celebratory “he’s back!” message.

The new trailer, which arrived yesterday from San Diego Comic-Con 2023, had a brief moment where Miles Morales runs into Mister Negative (aka Martin Li), wearing what looks to be a prison jumpsuit and sporting longer hair. In the trailer, Miles is clearly angry with him, yelling that Li doesn’t know what he’s taken from Morales.

In the original game, Li is one of the early antagonists that Peter Parker faces off against, and plays a pivotal part in the story. Li is the employer of May Parker and helps run F.E.A.S.T., but secretly runs a criminal organization known as the Inner Demons. After defeating Li in the game, he disappears, but his arrest is confirmed later in the game.

Mackie plays John Doe in the show

Smith and Mackie went up against each other in the PS4 port of the 2001 PS2 game Twisted Metal: Black. Beatriz, while briefly shown with a controller, mainly commented on the side. She even wryly pointed out how different Mackie looks from his character in the game, John Doe.

There were only a few moments that showed the actual game, as it was mostly about the three talking about shooting the show, video games, and their memories from the early 2000s. Mackie said he didn’t play too many video games growing up, but he said he played some Atari systems back then. He also noted that it was a “big deal” when anyone got a PlayStation.

Miller said he wanted the apocalypse in the series to happen in 2002 since that’s near the era when these games came out, which were “synonymous with the time.” Mackie said he even got his first car around 2002 and loved playing his music while driving, which is also what his character does in the series.

Twisted Metal is about to have a presence at Comic-Con that not only includes free ice cream from Sweet Tooth’s truck, but also a screening of the first episode before its July 27 premiere date.

How the Wayfinder early access Battle Pass works

The Wayfinder battle pass is called a Reward Tower. As is the case with other battle passes, there will be free and premium tracks, with each of the four Founder’s Packs giving varying degrees of access. As players gain XP, they’ll earn Reward Tower Keys that will unlock over 100 unique items over the different tower floors.

The main way the Reward Towers are different from conventional battle passes is that the premium track will never expire. Once a player has purchased the premium track, they can work on it at their own pace. There’s even the opportunity to gain progress on multiple premium tracks; only one can be active at any one time but players can switch freely between them. However, the free tracks will expire at the end of each season.

The Season 1 Reward Tower will have three tracks. The bronze Free Reward Tower offers 25 rewards and one of the components needed to summon the Venomess (the others can be earned through gameplay). The silver Paid Reward Tower gives access to all 100 rewards and all four components for the Venomess. Finally, the gold Premium Reward Tower offers all 100 rewards, instant access to the Venomess and her Nightshade signature weapon, and 20 Reward Tower Keys for a head start.

There will be four Founder’s Packs available at the start of the first season of early access. All will give players a Founders’ Flag Profile Background, Founder’s Glyph Pack, and “Wayfounder” Title and Profile Glyph. Here’s a list of the other bonuses players will get:

Blizzard will have a Campfire Chat about the Diablo 4 changes

Diablo 4 global community development director Adam Fletcher revealed the developer will be holding a Campfire Chat tomorrow, July 21, to “talk more” about the player feedback surrounding the class nerfs and other changes that were made in the Season 1 update. The chat will be held at 11 a.m. PT and will feature Fletcher, associate game director Joseph Piepiora, and designer Joe Shely.

The Diablo 4 Season 1 update, which was released on July 18, made a swath of changes in preparation for the start of Season of the Malignant. Of the class nerfs in the patch, the Barbarian Hammer of the Ancients, Druid Werewolf Shred, Necromancer Bone Spear, and Sorcerer Ice Shard were the skills that were hit the hardest. The reduction to the Barbarian skill in particular was felt to make a lot of the class’ endgame builds redundant.

Another of the controversial changes made was to introduce level requirements for World Tier III (level 40) and IV (level 60). A small update made today has now removed that requirement. The patch notes for update 1.1.0b also made it so Malignant Hearts always grant armor that directly maps with their item power.

In the meantime, the start of Season of the Malignant has come with its own issues. Blizzard has reported that players in the Americas have been facing “unusually long queue times” and has been working to get all players into the game as quickly as possible. Of course, long queues aren’t a new problem for the game and are something that should be expected at the launch of a new season.

The Walking Dead, Dying Light 2 crossover begins soon

Techland revealed that users can start unlocking The Walking Dead gear on July 26 at 7 a.m. PT. There will be seven daily challenges that reward players with comic book covers (although it’s unclear exactly what those comic covers do). Players who do all seven get a weapon charm of Rick Grimes’ hat.

Techland didn’t offer any other details about the collaboration, which is strange since so much of it has leaked or made its way online in one way or another. An image of a Rick Grimes bundle leaked onto a Discord server, showing how players can not only dress like Grimes, but swing Negan’s bat and knife, as well as use Michonne’s katana. This will likely not be free, much like many of the other item bundles.

An earlier leak had the comic covers and charm, but also included a wearable version of Grimes’ hat and Negan’s bat seemingly separate from the bundle, meaning that it might be possible that some of these items can be earned in other ways. It’s hazy, but all will likely be revealed next week at the latest.

Techland has been teasing the Walking Dead crossover for some time, and it’s not even the only crossover coming to the open-world zombie title. Those aforementioned The Walking Dead leaks came alongside an image showing a Payday collaboration slated for sometime in the future, too. This is all part of the Summer of Horrors, which was kicked off by the highly anticipated update that made nighttime scarier and improved the parkour, two sticking points for fans of the first game.

High on Life is likely coming to PlayStation

As noted by Knoebelbroet, a listing for High on Life showed up on the game update database Orbis Patches. It shows that the shooter is on patch 1.03 and around 9.8GB total. This listing was only created on July 17. There is currently no entry for a PS5 port, but it’s possible that it may show up eventually since not many titles of this stature only ship on PS4. It was natively on Xbox One, as well as Xbox Series X|S, after all.

There’s been no official confirmation of a possible port. However, it seems likely that it’ll be announced at Comic-Con. High on Life is one of the games scheduled to be at the show in some capacity. It also has a horror-themed expansion on the way called High on Knife, but not much is known about it. It would make sense for the DLC to come out alongside or just after a PlayStation port.

High on Life was a little divisive when it launched. The quirky first-person shooter hit an average score of 70 on OpenCritic, and while some loved its irreverent humor, others found it incredibly grating.

What is Antstream and its expected PS5 release date?

Antstream is a streaming service that currently boasts over 1400 officially licensed retro titles from the PlayStation, SNES, Sega, Atari, and Arcade, among other classic platforms. The service adds titles on an ongoing basis, supports cloud saves, records high scores online, and comes with a ‘resume play’ feature. Players can also enter tournaments and challenge each others’ high scores.

As for when Antstream might launch on PS5, Rouse told Xbox Expansion Pass that Antstream is timed exclusive to Xbox for up to eight months. When asked if PlayStation and Nintendo players can expect Antstream on their platforms, Rouse said, “I think so… probably not for another 6-8 months.”

“We want it [Antstream] everywhere,” he added. “We don’t know where you’re going to be in five years, so if we have have it on the device that you’re playing on in five years’ time, that’s brilliant.” Rouse added that all of players’ data should carry over to whatever platform they choose to play on in the future.

Gundam Evolution will shut down in November 2023

Gundam Evolution’s servers will go dark on November 29, 2023. Prior to this, Bandai Namco will pull sales of EVO Coins and EC Pod Limited, and end updates to EC Pods, CAP Pods, and Ticket Pods. The sales and updates will cease next week on July 26. Those who have already purchased EVO Coins will still be able to use them after this date. There will be no refunds.

Gundam Evolution will still receive Season 6 and 7 updates in August and October, respectively. The updates will add new units and maps.

As for why Gundam Evolution is shutting down, Bandai Namco says that it can no longer provide a satisfactory experience. “We wanted to create a title that brought FPS fans and Gundam fans together,” the company said. “We challenged ourselves to create an authentic Gundam FPS game that could be played globally. Unfortunately, we have determined that it is no longer possible for us to provide a service that satisfies our players.”
